camping with poppy and mr brent

As some of you may or may not know, my dad (whom the grandkids affectionately call "Poppy") and Mr. Brent came all the way from Tennessee to spend about 12 days with us. And it was a great time too. So while they were here, Andy planned a family car camping trip. Car camping - you know.. you drive up to a camping spot, hop out, set up a tent, and camp there... so we did that. Poppy, Mr. Brent, Andy, myself, and our girls. (Yes Lazarus got left behind on this trip... he stayed with a friend)

So we hop out of the car, set up the tent, and Andy asks some local guys around the area we are at if they can find us some poles. So they go cut down 4 very long pieces of bamboo. Great! Then they come up this idea with Andy, Poppy, and Mr Brent for our 2nd tarp to be set up over the tent. In case of rain. It had rained and rained before we arrived at the camp site. But we tried it anyway. So these pics show the process of the tent being set up. It was a funny site. Since these people knew we were camping there, I for sure thought I would wake up in the morning to their faces pressed against the tent... but there were none. :)
