chinese lanterns

This past week we studied China in History & Geography, so for a fun craft we made Chinese lanterns. After making them, Miriam said "so when do we get to put the candle in?" I said "we don't put a candle in these, its just pretend." Miriam of course asks... "why?" To which I reply, "Miriam, if we put a candle in it, they might catch on fire." At that point, Miriam looked at Anna and said "Anna, they might catch on fire!" (while flashing a mischievous grin!). Needless to say, I tried to make sure I knew where the chinese lanterns were for the rest of the day, till the thought of fire was out of sight, out of mind.
